I first dipped my toes into the exciting world of photography when I was at Art College studying Graphic Design. Later in life, I revisited this media in search of satisfying my creative needs. And of course, if you’re good at something, you might take it up professionally within a career. Nowadays I also sell my services as a Midlands Photographer working on events, exhibitions and conferences in the Midlands and across the UK.

I cover all kinds of events and conferences and often shoot for local corporate businesses. Working to supply professional Commercial Photography to market products and services that are on brand. These can then be used for marketing purposes both online and for print production on brochures, magazines and flyers, etc. Portraits are often needed as great headshots can be used for a multitude of purposes from brochures to online.

I’ve produced professional photography work for The ARB, ADSO, Worcester NHS, Emcor UK in Birmingham, United Biscuits, Arthritis Care, and many more business clients around the Midlands and UK-wide. I’ve also been commissioned for photographic shoots in Europe. Directly working with clients and through Midlands Advertising Agencies. I’ve also collaborated with other photographers on projects. And through the use of drone photography, I have used it to produce property images and videos.

If Photography and Videography work is required at an event, I can provide both services, which I’ve done frequently for various clients. Moving effortlessly from one piece of camera equipment to another. I have an extensive range of lenses suitable for a variety of jobs. Photographers can never have too much equipment!

I have a relaxed approach when capturing pictures for an event. Friendly and professional interaction with people is crucial to producing natural shots. Not getting in people's faces but working discreetly. Yet still making sure I photograph the best images that answer the client’s brief. Specialising in natural yet interesting photography, searching a room gallery or group of people to find those perfect headshot portraits. Nobody wants to see a photo of someone yawning at a conference or event! Photographers should work as hard as you do to get that perfect image.

My style of corporate event photography can alter to suit the needs of the client. If a straight forward clean photo is required I’ll shoot RAW and optimize the images in Lightroom. If a particular creative style is required I can frame shots at an angle and use a narrow depth of field to focus the viewer’s eye on a subject. Then again, add a creative LUT to the Image in Adobe Lightroom. Yes – the role of a photographer far exceeds just taking stunning images. We have to be able to use Lightroom and Photoshop as well. This can make a great shot amazing!

I use Look-Up Tables (LUTS) within Adobe Lightroom to create a texture or feel for a shot. Deepening or adjusting colours, saturation and contrast. I can also achieve warm or cooler-coloured images.

​

And I use Adobe Photoshop for those times when a specific edit needs to be applied to an image. Whether that be a little photo-retouching or removing an unwanted object. I've used Photoshop since version 1 and maintain all software to its up-to-date version.

BIRMINGHAM EVENT AND CONFERENCE PHOTOGRAPHER

There are some amazing venues in and around Birmingham in the West Midlands. The UK’s second city is a central location for hundreds of meetings and events for UK businesses. In the centre of Birmingham, you’ll find hotels such as the Burlington Hotel – famous for being the Midland Red featured in the infamous Peaky Blinders.
